In December of 2014, a new organization calledDigixDAO (DGD) was founded in Singapore. The project gives the infrastructure to create token backed by physical assets. It allows for the public verification of an asset's existence through its chain of custody via its Proof of Provenance (PoP) protocol, which uses the Ethereum network and the Interplanetary File System. Other applications can be built on top of the asset tokenization service. There are two cryptocurrencies,Digix Gold andDigixDAO. LBMA-approved refiners are said to procure the company's gold. Bureau Veritas is a third-party auditing company.
