What is the KILT protocol?
There is a KILT wants to return control over personal data to its owner, restore privacy to the individual and enable innovative business models around identity and credentials. KILT wants to combine real-world trust with the benefits of technology.
The mainnet of KILT was launched in September of 2021.
What is the KILT Protocol?
KILT gives consumers a way to represent their identity without revealing anything. While keeping your data private and in your possession, it brings the old process of trust in real-world verifiable credentials to the digital world.
KILT has an open-source Javascript Software Development Kit (SDK) that does not require a lot of experience to use.
Who is the originator of the KILT Protocol?
The founder of KILT Protocol is Ingo Rbe, CEO of BOTLabs, and he served as the CTO from 2012 to 2017. From 2006 to 2012 Ingo was the project director for the German publisher.
Ingo set out to create identity solutions that could be used by corporations and entrepreneurs around the world in order to restore control over personal data.
How does KILT work?
Digital identity in KILT consists of two parts, a Digital Identifier and Verifiable Credentials.
Using KILT, a trusted authority will be able to issue documents which are owned and controlled by the person they are issued to. The data in the Credential is under the control of the user and is never stored on the blockchain.
The user can prove the authenticity of their Credential to anyone they choose to show it to.
What makes KILT Protocol unique?

KILT is providing a base layer for verifiable credentials in Web 3.0 by offering accreditation in the digital world.
The key elements for KILT are provided by the Kusama parachain.
Network protection and block finalization are additional security levels. Interoperability allows KILT to use additional features like smart contracts and oracles. The ability to provide DIDs and Verifiable Credentials to other parachain projects via the Relay Chain provides enormous network effects for KILT.

How many KILT Coins are in circulation?
150 million pre-minted KILT Coins are the total supply at the TGE. 34 million is the initial circulating supply. Over a period of 6 to 60 months, the remaining pre-minted coins will be unlocked.
KILT launched as a parachain with three major token utilities: payment, on-chain, and staking mechanisms for collators and delegators.
There would be only one KILT network and one KILT coin across both, regardless of whether KILT Protocol moves from a Kusama to a Polkadot parachain.
The KILT Protocol Network is secured.
A variation on Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus called limited delegated proof-of-stake (LDPoS) is used to maximize chain security.
Delegators back a trusted collator with their staked KILT Coins.
The security of KILT Protocol is provided by the Kusama Relay Chain.
Where can you buy kILT coins?
The KILT token will be released in late 2021.
